Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is delighted to invite you to the next National Sexual Violence Law Conference, which will take place March 9-10, 2027. This in-person, two-day legal conference will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, located steps from the historic French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The conference will bring together 225-250 new and experienced lawyers, advocates, and other professionals from across the country interested in utilizing the civil legal justice system to better respond to the needs of sexual assault survivors. Those interested in strengthening their expertise in legal practice areas key to serving sexual assault survivors such as privacy, safety, immigration, education, and employment are encouraged to attend.

This event offers a unique opportunity to learn, collaborate, and connect with a national network of practitioners advancing survivor-centered justice.

Cost:

Early Bird Registration, available through July 31, 2026:

  • Standard Rate: $525 per attendee
  • Nonprofit/Government Rate: $425 per attendee

Regular Registration:

  • Standard Rate: $575 per attendee
  • Non-Profit/Government Rate: $475 per attendee

Late Registration:

  • Standard Rate: $700 per attendee
  • Non-Profit/Government Rate: $600 per attendee

In the past, OVW has approved all VRLC Conferences for use of professional development funds. However, OVW is no longer issuing approvals for specific conferences

OVW-funded legal advocates and attorneys are encouraged to reach out to their grant managers for approval to use OVW travel funds.

Deadline to submit: Friday, August 21, 2026.

To submit a proposal to facilitate an NSVLC training session, please complete this survey. Selected trainers will be notified by September 8, 2026.

Priority will be given to proposals that focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Accessibility and Inclusion: Focus on accessibility and inclusion in delivering direct services, organizational practices, or the systems survivors navigate.
  • Sustainability in the Work: Explore practices that promote sustainability on an individual or organizational level. Highlight practices, tools, and strategies for preventing burnout, promoting mental and physical wellness, and incorporating equity into the foundation of the anti-sexual violence movement.
  • Alternative and Innovative Responses to Sexual Violence: Spotlight innovative and alternative responses to sexual violence, both on an individual and systemic level. Examples include restorative practices, transformative justice, alternatives to prosecution, or other innovative responses.
  • Emerging Issues: Engage attendees with new and emerging issues impacting survivors including technology, abortion care and reproductive rights, legislative trends, etc.

The early bird registration rate is the lowest rate NSVLC offers. Groups of 3 or more can receive $50 off standard and late registration rates.

Cancellation requests must be received by February 10, 2027, after which we will not issue any refunds. Cancellation and refund requests must be provided in writing and must be e-mailed to VRLC. An administrative fee of $200 applies to all cancellations made at any time, including prior to February 10, 2027. Refunds will be processed within 30 days following your request.

Victim Rights Law Center maintains the right to record, film, photograph, or capture your likeness, which may be used for educational, archival, or promotional purposes without further approval from you or payment to you.  

Please note that, in general, we try to avoid capturing attendees’ faces in any Conference photography.

Photos uploated to the Conference platform by attendees may be used for promotional purposes.

Many of us in this work are survivors of sexual violence. This conference is geared toward attorneys and legal advocates. Anyone who supports addressing the legal needs of sexual assault survivors is welcome to register.
