2008 SHINING STAR AWARDS RECEPTION

 Please join the Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) and First Lady Diane Patrick, Esq., who will discuss pro bono initiatives in the Commonwealth at the VRLC's Annual Shining Star Awards Reception. The evening celebrates the VRLC's cadre of 170 pro bono attorneys who have helped our staff to assist more than 540 clients in the past year and honors the individuals who have improved the lives of sexual assault survivors through exemplary service, vision and courage. This year Krista Green Pratt, Esq. of Seyfarth Shaw LLP will receive the Shining Star Award for her superlative dedication as a pro bono attorney. Pioneer and victim advocate Gail Burns-Smith of the National Crime Victim Law Institute and the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence will receive the first Susan Vickers Vision Award. A rape victim who pursued justice alongside VRLC pro bono attorneys through more than seven years of litigation will receive the 2008 Susan Estrich Courage Award. The event will take place on Thursday, June 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goulston & Storrs, P.C. at 400 Atlantic Avenue on Boston's waterfront.
