Volunteer/Intern Opportunities
Volunteer/Intern Opportunities
The Victim Rights Law Center is leading a new response to sexual violence. As a VRLC intern or volunteer, you will make a difference in the lives of rape and sexual assault victims and help to rebuild their lives. Our interns and volunteers share our commitment to end sexual violence.
The VRLC often has internship opportunities for law students and occasionally undergraduate students. Please contact Kate Lawson at klawson@victimrights.org to inquire about available internship opportunities at the VRLC.
The VRLC heavily relies on volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering by performing research or office tasks or assisting our Development Office, please email vrlc@victimrights.org. Volunteer opportunities are subject to available projects.
In providing civil legal assistance to sexual assault victims, the Victim Rights Law Center relies substantially on volunteer attorneys. Our pro bono attorney program, the Rape Survivors’ Law Project pairs rape and sexual assault victims with trained, volunteer attorneys and paraprofessionals who give them a voice in the legal system. If you are interested or have questions, please contact us at vrlc@victimrights.org.
The Shining Star Awards Reception, which occurs annually in June, is planned by the Shining Star Event Committee comprised of volunteers. If you are interested in developing relationships for the VRLC, fundraising, assisting with the silent auction or event planning, please email ED@victimrights.org.
The VRLC Advisory Council provides external perspective and resources, as well as advocacy and support, to further the VRLC’s overall objectives. Advisory Council members provide specific on-call expertise and advice when needed, provide new source of donors, community outreach and advocate for the groundbreaking work of the VRLC. For more information on how to become part of the Advisory Council network, please email ED@victimrights.org.
The VRLC Board of Directors consists of community members in the business, legal and academic worlds. If you are interested in volunteering in a leadership capacity with the VRLC, please email ED@victimrights.org. Volunteering on the Shining Star Event Committee, Rape Survivors Law Project Pro Bono Panel or the Advisory Council is encouraged to become engaged in the VRLC community.
